COMAP has just launched its first BIM library, for its multilayer connection range: SkinPress press fittings and MultiSkin and BetaSkin multilayer pipes. These BIM objects will be available for free download on the group’s different websites.
Supporting building sector professionals in their transition to digital
The publication of this first BIM library demonstrates COMAP’s willingness to accompany building sector professionals at a time when Building Information Modelling (BIM) is becoming ever more widely used. The group decided to concentrate first on its multilayer range, one of its main connection product lines, with the SkinPress press fittings and the MultiSkin and BetaSkin multilayer pipes. The BIM approach will eventually be extended to its other product lines.
BIM, an approach offering various advantages
Thanks to BIM it is possible to optimise every phase in a building’s lifecycle, using a digital model common to all building professions. In a BIM project, it can be particularly useful to model a building’s water networks during the design phase. This helps to ensure that technical ducts and reservations in structural elements are the right size to allow for the networks to be passed through them.
